This is the core expression of Allegra Chardonnay. Still built from the same historic Rebenberg vineyard, still low-yielding old vines, but here it feels a little more open and ready compared to older releases. The vineyard does most of the work. Nearly 50-year-old vines, planted on gravel and quartz soils, naturally produce fruit with concentration and acidity. That balance carries through the whole wine. There’s weight and depth, but it never loses its line. Winemaking stays consistent with the house style. Whole bunch pressing, wild fermentation, full malolactic and time in new oak. The oak is there, but it acts more as structure than flavour, giving the wine shape rather than dominating it. After that, extended bottle ageing brings everything together. On the palate, it’s layered but controlled. Citrus, stone fruit and subtle spice, with a creamy texture held in place by fresh acidity. It has richness, but also direction.
