Description Alkof DX Syrup is manufactured by Alkem Laboratories Ltd and is commonly used to alleviate symptoms associated with dry cough and upper respiratory tract allergies. The active ingredients work synergistically: Chlorpheniramine Maleate (4 mg): An antihistamine that blocks histamine receptors, reducing allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide (10 mg): A cough suppressant that acts on the brain’s cough center to reduce the urge to cough. This combination makes Alkof DX Syrup effective in treating dry coughs, particularly those caused by allergies, post-operative conditions, or throat irritation. Usage Instructions: Shake the bottle well before each use. Measure the prescribed dose using the provided measuring cup. Take the syrup as directed by your doctor, typically every 4–6 hours. It can be taken with or without food. Precautions: Avoid alcohol while taking this medication, as it may enhance drowsiness. Use caution when driving or operating machinery due to potential drowsiness. Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have liver or kidney conditions. Side Effects: Most side effects are mild and temporary, including: Drowsiness or sedation Dizziness Dry mouth Nausea or vomiting Blurred vision If any side effects persist or worsen, consult your healthcare provider.
